Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an important part of social and digital life. It has a great impact on communication, public services, the field of education, healthcare, and everyday life. This study examines public understanding, experience of use, and perception of AI in Kazakhstan through a social survey conducted with the participation of 3,000 respondents in all regions of the country. The data were collected using the quantitative survey method and analyzed through descriptive statistical methods.
The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents have at least an average understanding of AI. It was identified that in everyday life they actively use AI-based technologies, including social media platforms, ChatGPT, navigation systems, and voice assistants as the most common types. In addition, the study shows differences in AI literacy, accessibility, and trust, especially in socially sensitive areas such as healthcare and education.
The public view regarding the development of artificial intelligence generally remains pragmatic. Respondents support the integration of artificial intelligence when it increases convenience and efficiency, while at the same time showing caution regarding ethical risks, reliability, and human control. The study contributes to understanding the social aspects of the introduction of artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan and emphasizes the importance of digital literacy and inclusive technological development.
