Abstract

The key aspects and main directions of the impact of digitalization on the formation and reproduction of social capital in modern Kazakh society are analyzed in the article. A critical analysis of the concepts of social capital is carried out, the forms and mechanisms, trends and consequences of its digitalization are considered. Through the analysis of the results of sociological research conducted in 2024 by BRIF Research Group LLP commissioned by the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, it is shown how digitalization affects various spheres of public life, including education, medicine and public administration. The issues related to building trust between citizens and government institutions are being discussed. The challenges that arise against the background of uneven access to digital technologies are being considered. Along with positive aspects, such as improving the quality of public services, the authors note the negative effects of digitalization, including deepening social inequality and reducing trust in traditional sources of information. A number of scientific and practical recommendations are proposed for optimizing the processes of accumulation and use of social capital in the context of digital transformation of Kazakhstani society.
