Abstract

This article examines the hybrid nature of youth identity as a result of the intersection between globalization and localization processes. Appadurai’s “landscapes” model and Robertson’s concept of glocalization provide a theoretical foundation for understanding the multidimensional character of young people’s socio-cultural experiences. The ideas of Giddens and Castells reveal the reflexive agency of youth and their self-representation within the digital sphere. Through glocal cultural strategies, young people adapt global ideas to local contexts while maintaining a balance between tradition and modernity. In the Kazakhstani context, this process manifests as a dynamic interaction between national and global identities, while from a sociological perspective, such glocal dialogue represents an essential factor in cultural renewal and societal stability.
