Guidelines for Authors

The journal Sociology.KZ publishes both print and electronic versions based on online submission of materials and registration (authorization) on the journal’s official website using the Open Journal Systems platform.

The Editorial Board accepts previously unpublished and original authored articles that align with the journal’s thematic scope. Articles must be submitted in electronic format and uploaded directly to the journal’s website. (Registration link: https://journalsociology.kz/index.php/js/user/register )

The author is required to submit a Cover Letter, which must include the following information: Full name, country, city, place of work / affiliation, position, academic degree, academic title, email address, ORCID id, contact phone number.

The cover letter must explicitly state that: the submitted article has not been previously published anywhere; it is an original work free of plagiarism; if the article is co-authored, the corresponding author must be clearly identified.

Article Formatting Requirements

- Online registration and online article submission. https://journalsociology.kz/index.php/js/user/register 

- The article must include: title, abstract (at least 150 and no more than 300 words), keywords, introduction, methodology, main body, discussion, conclusion, funding information (if applicable), and references.

- The total length of the article, including the abstract, references, and author information, must be at least 5,000 words and no more than 7,000 words. The article must be typed in 12-point Times New Roman font, justified alignment, single line spacing, paragraph indent of 1 cm, top and bottom margins – 2 cm, left margin – 3 cm, right margin – 1.5 cm.

- Graphs, figures, diagrams, and tables must be inserted directly into the text with numbering and captions (e.g., Table 1 – Table Title).

- The article must include MRNTI code, keywords, main body, references, Transliteration, and Author Information.

- The article content must be structured and consist of Introduction, Methodology, subsections of the Main Body with titles, and Conclusion (Findings).

Article Formatting Rules

- On the first line, left-aligned, indicate the MRNTI code https://grnti.ru  (12 pt).

- Below, with single spacing, centered in bold uppercase letters: ARTICLE TITLE (14 pt).

- Below, with single spacing, centered in bold letters: Author(s) full name(s) with affiliation, city, and country (12 pt).

- Below, with single spacing, in the language of the article: Abstract with Keywords (12 pt).

- After one spacing interval, provide the Abstract and Keywords in Kazakh and English (if the article is submitted in Russian), in Russian and English (if submitted in Kazakh), or in Kazakh and Russian (if submitted in English) (12 pt).

- Below, with single spacing: Introduction.

- The main body of the article must be structured. Subsections are separated by single spacing. Each subsection must have a Title.

- After the main body, with single spacing: Conclusion (Findings).

- Then, with single spacing: References and Transliteration.

- The reference list must be formatted strictly according to GOST 7.1-2003 "Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description. General requirements and rules of compilation" adopted by the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (Protocol No. 12 dated July 2, 2003) (http://docs.cntd.ru/document/1200034383 ).
